Attending a non-trial event by video link
Please complete and eLodge a Request to Attend by Electronic Means (note: this document can be eLodged on the Commonwealth Courts Portal).

You must ask the other party whether they agree to you attending the court event by video link. You will be required to provide details of the date on which you asked the other party for their consent and whether or not they agreed in Part E of the Request to Attend by Electronic Means.
You are not able to provide details of the video link in the Request. There is a separate form for this (the Video Link Booking Form).
If your request is approved, please complete and email the Video Link Booking Form to technology.familycourt@justice.wa.gov.au.
Specific instructions about what you need to do to arrange a video link are provided in the “Instruction C - What you need to do to arrange a video link” web page. You will need to read these instructions in order to complete the Video Link Booking Form.
Attending a trial by video link
If you or one of your witnesses wishes to attend the trial by video link, you should discuss this with the judicial officer at the Readiness Hearing. You should also confer with the other party/parties in your case and try and reach agreement about those arrangements prior to the Readiness Hearing. If appropriate, the judicial officer may make orders at the Readiness Rearing about the attendance at trial by video link.
If no orders have been made, then no later than 28 days prior to trial you will need to eLodge an application in a case seeking an order for attendance by video link, together with an affidavit in support.
