The Family Court of Western Australia has moved to the eCourts portal for all document lodgement.

To commence using this portal you will need to register with your file number and participant I.D please contact the Family Court call centre to obtain this number on (08) 9224 8222. If you are an employee of a law firm you will need to contact the administrator of your law firm who will be able to create your new eCourts Portal account.

Changes to the Family Law Act and the Family Court Act
From 6 May 2024, recent amendments to the federal Family Law Act (which applies to cases concerning children whose parents were, or are, married to each other) will commence. [16/04/2024]

Changes to the Family Law Act 1975 (Cth) to commence 6 May 2024
At this time, the changes only apply to cases concerning children whose parents were, or are, married, and will apply to all new and existing matters from 6 May 2024, except where a final hearing/trial has already commenced. [14/02/2024]

Priority Property Pools under $500,000 (PPP500)
The Family Court of WA has introduced a new case management pathway for designated applications for a property settlement filed after 1 October 2023. See Practice Direction (No. 1 of 2023). [27/09/2023]
