Resource Room for Public on Level 1

Frequently Asked Questions About the Resource Room

 

Where is it located?

  • The Resource Room is located in the level 1 foyer opposite the customer service counter.
 

Can I access the Family Court website?

  • There are 6 computers in the resource room available for public use
  • You can access the Family Court website, produce court forms and use Microsoft Word
  • For security reasons, documents produced cannot be saved to floppy disk or other removable storage devices
  • There is an A4 laser printer available to print your documents at no charge
 

Can I complete my court documents?

  • Once you have prepared and printed your documents you are able to have them witnessed, photocopied using the 2 coin-operated photocopiers, collated and stapled ready for filing  at the customer service counter opposite the resource room
 

Where do I view court files and subpoena documents?

  • There is a secure viewing area in the resource room to view your court file and documents produced to the court under subpoena
  • Persons viewing court files and documents need to produce identification before being allowed access to the viewing area
  • Only parties to proceedings, their legal representatives or court authorised experts may access the viewing area of the resource room to view a court file or documents
  • You will be asked to lock away any personal items/briefcase during viewing
  • The resource room and viewing area is monitored by security cameras
  • You must make an appointment:
    • To view a court file contact the Records section on 08 9224 8205
    • To view subpoena documents contact the Subpoena section on 08 9224 8304
 

What other services are in the resource room?

  • There are a range of brochures available about family law services
  • There is a telephone providing direct access to the Family Relationships Advice Line at no charge
  • Law firms have access to a court mailbox service
